Mounted Enforcement Deputies arrest man for Burglary Adjacent to Whittier Narrows Recreation Center, South El Monte

On August 31, 2013, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies from Parks Bureau Mounted Enforcement Detail where conducting mounted patrol in the Emerald Necklace trail system adjacent to Whittier Narrows Recreation Center when they observed a male Hispanic adult wearing gloves and a bandana on his face climb over a wall into a parking lot.
The deputies then observed the suspect break into a large tour bus by force and enter it. The deputies immediately detained the suspect and identified him as Edward James Ramirez 53 years old, a resident of South El Monte.
After further investigation it was determined that suspect Ramirez had committed a burglary.
Suspect Ramirez was arrested and booked at Industry Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of a $20,000.00 bail.
Whittier Narrows Recreation Center is located at 750 S. Santa Anita Avenue South El Monte, CA.
