On September 28, 2013, the Franklin Township Police Department and Franklin Township Recreation will be hosting a D.A.R.E. Community Day at the Clinton Elks Club. This event is open to all Franklin Township residents. The event will take place between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Seventeen different organizations will have displays, many will conduct demonstrations and there will be fun games as well. The Hunterdon County Sherriff’s Department will be fingerprinting children for identity kits. Edna Mahan State Correctional Institute will provide a canine demonstration. The New Jersey State Police will be landing a helicopter sometime during the event. Food will be available for purchase at a minimal cost with all the proceeds to benefit the still developing Franklin Township recreational facility. There will be pony rides, face painting, and a bounce castle. The event will take place rain or shine. More details are available on the Franklin Township website at www.franklin-twp.org.
