Updated Narrative:

Sheriff's Operation Safe Streets (OSS) investigators and deputies from Lakewood Sheriff's Station have taken the armed felony suspect into custody.

The suspect, a parolee wanted for possession of a weapon, was hiding in a shed at a location in the 8200 block of Howe Street, Paramount, and surrendered to deputies at approximately 3:45PM.

No one was injured during the search.

The lockdown at area schools has been lifted. All students have been released from campus.

Sheriff's Operation Safe Streets(OSS) investigators and deputies from Lakewood Sheriff's Station are searching the area of Century Boulevard and Downey Avenue, Paramount, for an armed felony suspect.

Paramount High School, Roosevelt Elementary School, and Wirtz Elementary School have been placed on lockdown.

The suspect is described as a 25 year old Male Hispanic 5'9" 160 lbs black hair, black shorts and shirt.

There is no further information at this time.
