WISCONSIN RAPIDS POLICE DEPARTMENT CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY WANTS YOU

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department would like to invite you or a trusted family member to apply for the Citizen’s Police Academy. The class is limited to 15 participants. The Police Department still has room and is accepting applications (must be 21 or older).

The Academy is 10 weeks long and will run consecutive Wednesdays from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. starting October 2, 2013. You can obtain an application on our website at this link http://209.43.45.37/department/division.php?structureid=115 Click on “application” found in the narrative, complete form, and click “submit item.” If your schedule does not allow you to attend this session you will be prompted to choose a future class. If you want to be considered but cannot complete the form on-line, contact Detective Andy Dewitt (715.421.6217). We will contact all applicants to inform you of your status.

Participants have the opportunity to drive squad cars, shoot police issued weapons, observe a demonstration from our Special Response Team (SRT), learn about sensitive crimes, drug investigations and tons more!

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is proud to have over 300 graduates of the Academy since its inception. Participants agree the Academy exceeds expectations.
