On Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10 am, 24 cities and the County will conduct a test of Orange County’s Regional Emergency Notification System AlertOC. This exercise is being conducted in conjunction with National Preparedness Month and will replicate a large scale, multi-jurisdictional emergency requiring thousands of numbers to be called simultaneously across Orange County’s... entire region.

AlertOC is a mass notification system used by the County of Orange and participating OC cities to issue government related messages to residents and businesses. The system has the capacity to send thousands of messages within minutes via phone, e-mail and text. Only authorized officials are allowed access to the system.

The phone message will urge all residents to prepare for real-life emergencies by registering their cell numbers, text numbers and e-mail addresses at AlertOC.com for the best chance to receive vital, timely information during an incident.
