Franklin, TN – During August and September, Franklin Police conducted compliance checks at 25 businesses licensed to sell alcohol in Franklin. Of those 25, five sold to an under-21 informant working with Franklin Police. Those businesses are:
1. Mapco Express, 1501 New Highway 96 West
2. Market Master, 1814 Columbia Avenue
3. Mapco, 1100 Hillsboro Road
4. Delta, 501 Liberty Pike
5. Daily’s, 1412 Murfreesboro Road
Each of the clerks who illegally sold alcohol were issued a misdemeanor citation for Underage Sale of Alcohol, a Class-A misdemeanor punishable by a fine and time in jail. Business owners whose employees are caught selling alcohol to minors face additional civil penalties, including fines and potential loss of their business’ beer permit.
