Spindale Police and the NCSBI have made an arrest in the homicide case of Jeffrey Lee James. At 11:30 AM today, a murder warrant was issued for Dedrick Shamar Washington, 19 of 763 Broad Street Shelby NC.

At approximately 5:30 PM this evening, Officers of the Shelby Police Department spotted Washington operating a white Cadillac inside their city limits. A traffic stop was initiated and Washington was taken into custody without incident.

Washington is currently being held in the Rutherford County Detention facility without bond pending a first appearance in Rutherford County court.
