THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO GIVE YOU A FEW SAFETY-TIPS TO HELP PREVENT YOUR VEHICLE FROM BEING STOLEN OR BURGLARIZED.
Secure your vehicle by locking all doors, windows, including the sunroof. As a further safety measure, equip your vehicle with a loud vehicle alarm, steering wheel locking device, and/or a kill switch.
Avoid leaving spare keys and remote garage openers in your vehicle.
Do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
This includes such items as:
Purses, Wallets, Briefcases, Loose change Laptop Computers, Cellular Phones, iPods, CD’s, Cameras, GPS Units, Shopping Bags, Packages, Gifts etc....
Park your vehicle in areas where there is a high concentration of pedestrian traffic and at night, park in well-lit areas.
If you witness suspicious activity, call for immediate police assistance. Be prepared to provide the suspect(s) physical description: clothing, height, weight, as well as suspect(s) vehicle description: make/model, color, and license plate number.
