Stranded Motorist, Roadside Robbery Victim; Police seeking information on at-large suspect
Franklin, TN – Franklin Police hope that a composite sketch and vehicle description will help to identify an at-large, roadside robbery suspect.
At about 1:30 yesterday afternoon, after experiencing car trouble, a local woman pulled to the shoulder of I-65 South, just south of Exit 61 (Goose Creek Bypass). While waiting for the AAA wrecker that she called, a man approached the woman’s passenger side window and repeatedly demanded money. During the robbery, the suspect reached into the small of his back, as if reaching for a weapon, while screaming at the victim.
After the victim gave the suspect her cash, he ran to his 1980s model maroon Buick 4-door with rust spots and a Tennessee license plate.
The suspect is a black male with a short gray beard. He is about 5’10” tall with a thin build, a wide-set nose, and small eyes. He was wearing a black beanie cap, a dirty white t-shirt, and white-washed jeans.
