Locker Room Burglary During Pierce College vs. West LA College Football Game - LASD SFV

On Friday, October 5, 2013, Pierce College and West Los Angeles College (WLAC) battled it out on the football field at Pierce College’s John Sheppard Stadium, 6201 Winnetka Avenue, Woodland Hills. The game ended at 10:00PM, and upon returning to their locker room WLAC players discovered it had been burglarized. The burglary occurred during the second half of the football game.

After learning of the theft, WLAC players and Pierce College players became involved in a physical confrontation. Additional personnel from Sheriff's Community College Bureau and Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau, as well as LAPD Topanga Station, and LAPD Aero responded to assist in quelling the disturbance. No crime was reported in connection with the confrontation and no force was used by law enforcement personnel.

The visiting team’s locker room is a bungalow with two doors and several windows with bars. The locker room doors were locked during the game. It is not clear at this time how entry was made into the bungalow.

The exact amount of property and specific items stolen are also not known at this time; however, it was clear that several cell phones, wallets and money were taken.

There is an assessment underway to determine what damage occurred to campus property.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department fingerprint technicians were requested, and detectives will be speaking with the victims to better determine exactly what property was stolen.

The Sheriff’s department is requesting that any persons with information regarding the stolen property or suspect(s) please contact Sheriff's Community College Bureau Detectives at (323) 669-7555. Or if you wish to remain Anonymous, call “LA Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org
