Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to the 10400 block of South Denker Avenue, West Athens (unincorporated South Los Angeles), to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of one man, and the injury of a second man.

The first victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second injured victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, his condition is not known.
