The Upland Police Department wants you to be aware of a man robbing women in parking lots.
Crime alert: Armed Robberies
The Upland Police Department would like to alert the public to a recent string of armed robberies.
While the three robberies are similar in nature they may not all be related. The victims of the three robberies are women who were alone in their vehicles in parking lots of retail or professional centers.
In each of the three cases the suspect approaches the victim while she sits in her vehicle. He then produces a weapon and demands the victim’s purse. In two of the cases the suspect was seen fleeing in vehicle. One vehicle was described as a white compact car and the other, a newer silver Ford Mustang.
The suspect in two of the crimes, was described as a black male 25 years old, 5’-07” tall with a medium build. The suspect in the third case was believed to be a white or Hispanic male who had his face covered with a cloth.
The weapons involved in two of the crimes were handguns and the other was a pocket knife. Citizens are reminded to be aware of their surroundings while coming and going to their vehicles and are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police.
Anyone with information about these cases can contact the Upland Police Department, Detective Dodt or Detective Potts, at (909) 946-7624.
