National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day — Today October 26th 2013 10a-2p at WRPD
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day — October 26th, 2013
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, October 26th. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.
Bring all your expired and old medications in their original containers with the patient name crossed off.
Saturday, October 26th event locations include:
Pioneer Bank Lobby in Auburndale (10a.m. – Noon only),
Shopko in Marshfield (10a.m.- 2p.m.),
Pittsville Police Department (10a.m. – Noon only), Port Edwards Police Department (10a.m.- 2p.m.), Riverview Hospital Parking Lot #2 in Wisconsin Rapids (10a.m.- 2p.m.),
Wisconsin Rapids Police Department (10a.m.- 2p.m.),
Rome Police Department (10a.m.- 2p.m.)
The WRPD took in 471 pounds of unused or expired medications during the last Prescription Take-back. Your Wisconsin Rapids Police Department has been an expired and unused medication drop off location for years now. We can't stress enough the importance of getting unused and expired medications out of the homes and off of the streets. It keeps medications out of the hands of those who should never have them, especially our children.
Drop off for Needles (Sharps) are not at this event, but can be dropped off at Riverview Family Clinic at 410 Dewey St in Wisconsin Rapids.
