Police seeking info on $70k @MidTnElectric copper crooks. in w/Crime Stoppers: 615/794-4000
Franklin, TN – Detectives continue investigating a $70,000 copper wire theft that happened during the overnight hours of 10/08/2013 at Middle Tennessee Electric, 2156 Edward Curd Lane. At 2:07 am, two men entered the property on foot and used an on-site forklift to remove four large reels of copper from a storage area; each reel weighs approximately 6,000 pounds. Nearly an hour and a half later, the men pushed open the front gate and drove their flatbed truck into the complex where they loaded three reels of copper, leaving one behind.
Franklin Police are seeking two suspects: one with a dark colored jacket and pants with white or gray back pockets, and one wearing a dark green jacket and dark pants. Both were wearing gloves, and both had their faces covered during the theft. The two were driving a white Ford L9000 rollback type truck with a thick, dark-colored stripe along the doors that runs down the front fenders and across the hood.
