Suspect arrested for numerous residential break-ins

Beginning the first week of October, the NCSO began having a large rash of residential break-ins throughout the County. Typically when we have break-ins, they are generally confined to a particular region of the County, but these break-ins were occurring all over the County. While investigating these break-ins, we developed information that the suspect was a black male operating a gray in color Honda Odyssey minivan, which was spotted near some of the break-ins.
On Monday morning at around 1000am, the NCSO received notification of a break-in that had just occurred near Middlesex. A witness saw a gray in color Honda Minivan near the area. One of the Patrol Deputies responding to the area observed a gray Honda minivan traveling on NC 97 headed East near Stanhope. The Deputy turned around and conducted a vehicle stop on the minivan and was able to identify property that was just taken from the recent break-in that had just occurred.
As a result of the vehicle stop and further investigation, the Investigations Division of the Sheriff's Office was able to make an arrest of the suspect in the minivan and he was ultimately charged with 20 Felony cases of Breaking & Entering, and Larceny after Breaking & Entering.
At this time, we have charged Junious Bocarddi Pittman of the 100 block of Chamberlain Court, Rocky Mount with 20 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, 20 counts of Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and 17 counts of Injury to Real Property. He was incarcerated into the Nash County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
These breaking and entering cases are still being investigated and more charges may be coming to the suspect. The NCSO also conducted a search warrant at the residence of the suspect and a large quantity of stolen goods were recovered from there.
