Residents in Summerset 1 and Summerset 3 have received fraudulent calls from a private number (out of the area).

The caller claims to be a grandson who was just involved in a car accident where he was at fault. He then explains he is at the court house and needs money for the attorney.

This call is a scam! We encourage you to avoid dialogue with the caller and hang up the phone immediately.

This information has been distributed to representatives of several senior conmmunities throughout Brentwood. Due to the vigilance of these representatives, the information reached one potential victim prior to receiving the same fraudulent call.

The Brentwood Police Department is requesting your help in disseminating this information to other potential victims throughout the community.
