Full Notification

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to ARS 13-3825, the Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, accepted under an interstate compact agreement or released from a county jail back into the community. It is the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Officer having jurisdiction where the offender intends to reside to inform the community.

Paul Anthony VELASCO was arrested by the Tucson Police Department on March 20, 1999, and was subsequently convicted of attempted sexual abuse. His victim was an adult. Mr. VELASCO was arrested again on August 25, 2009 for Attempted Failure to Register (90 Day Homeless Registration) by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and was subsequently sentenced to a prison term at the Arizona Department of Corrections. Mr. VELASCO is NOT WANTED by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office or any law enforcement agency.
