A residential burglary was reported on Tuesday November 5th, 2013 in the Burning Hollow section of Saddle River. The resident came home in the evening and found their home burglarized. The actor/s forced entry through a set of double front doors and ransacked the bedrooms and closets stealing jewelry and valuables. The home alarm system was not set during this incident.
The following tips may reduce your chances of becoming a victim;

 If you have an alarm system, update it, and use it.
 Second story windows should be alarmed.
 Leave interior and exterior lights on when you are not home, to make your home appear occupied.
 Leave a television or radio on inside your home.
 Please remove jewelry and valuables from the bedrooms.
 Remove safes from the master bedroom and their closets.
 Lock all doors and windows. We find many unlocked doors.
 Remove mail and newspapers from your driveway the day they are delivered.
 Secure any ladders on your property.
