Mother Arrested After Her 2 Year-Old Boy Was Found Wandering the Streets, Lynwood #LASD Century Sheriff's Station

Century Sheriff's Station Deputy Roman was patrolling near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Elm Street, Lynwood, when he was flagged down by a tow truck driver.

The tow truck driver said he found a small child (two-years-old) wandering in the middle of the street. Deputy Roman took custody of the boy, and with the assistance of other deputies, searched the area for the parents or guardians. They were unable to find anybody, and there had been no reports of a missing child.

Deputy Roman took the boy to Saint Francis Medical Center, and he was found to be in good health; he was then taken to Century Station, where the investigation continued.

At about 5:30 pm (three hours after the tow truck driver found the boy), a relative of the boy called Century Sherrif's Station to report him missing.

Deputies went to the home and contacted family members. They transported the boy’s grandmother and 20 year-old mother, Asia Ramsey, to the station, and they identified the boy as their son/grandson.

Ramsey was subsequently arrested for Child Endangerment, and booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility.

The location where the boy was found is a short distance from where he lived.


The Department of Children’s Services is involved in the investigation.

The investigation is on-going.
