It is with great sadness that Woodway Public Safety Department announces that Assistant Chief Maggie Becker (retired) passed away after a long and hard fought battle with cancer the morning of Wednesday, November 20th. Maggie served the department with great distinction and honor from 1975 – 2001 and remained very active in the department until around 2011 when she began her battle with cancer. She was known for her loyalty, dedication, teamwork, and “tender loving care” of volunteers, sworn and non-sworn personnel alike.
Rosary will be held 7pm Friday the 22nd at Grace Gardens, located at 8220 Woodway Drive in Woodway. Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday the 23rd at St. Mary’s Church, located at 1401 Washington Avenue in Waco.
