Strong Armed Robbery of a Citizen: Update Glen Burnie, MD
On November 12, 2013 at approximately 0955 hours, officers from Northern District responded to the Wal-Mart located at 6700 block of Chesapeake Center Drive, for a report of a strong armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, an 81 year old female, who stated that a white male had just stolen her purse from her.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect described as a white male in his 40’s was circling the parking lot in his vehicle for several minutes. As the victim walked out of the store and began to load groceries into her car, the suspect pulled up in the vehicle, got out, and grabbed the victim’s wallet, which had been attached to her belt loop. The suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle with the victim’s wallet, including an undetermined amount of money. The victim was not injured during the course of the robbery.
Update:
Through investigative efforts, Detectives from Northern District were able to develop a suspect. On November 22, 2013, Detectives executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Baltimore County Police at a residence located at the 4200 block of Spring Avenue Halethorpe, MD 21227. Upon executing the search warrant, Detectives were able to locate the suspect, as well as several pieces of evidence linking the suspect to the robbery. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Northern District, where he was charged with Robbery, Assault, and Theft under $1000.
Suspect: Duane Dayton Lochary, 48 y/o, 4000 block of Spring Avenue Halethorpe, MD 21227 charged with Robbery, 2nd degree assault, and theft under $1000.
