SUSPECT ARRESTED IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AND SHOOTING
On Friday November 22, 2013 Nederland Police arrested 33 year old Christopher Michael Hebert of Groves Texas for Aggravated Robbery. Hebert is charged with the November 16 2013 robbery of Twin City Liquor located at 507 N. Hwy 347 in Nederland. During the course of the robbery the clerk, Siraj Thobani was shot and is expected to fully recover from his wounds.
Detective Ben Hanks with the Nederland Police Department conducted the investigation, and through information obtained by various citizens was able to identify Hebert as the suspect. During the course of his investigation, Hanks was able to interview Hebert and obtained a confession from Hebert implicating himself in the robbery.
Hebert is also a suspect in another armed robbery that occurred in Groves Texas.
Hebert was booked in the Jefferson County Jail charged with Aggravated Robbery.
