Sheriff’s Personnel Walk Door-To-Door Interacting with the Community and Conducting Surveys-Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Public Trust Partnership Program
Who: Sheriff Leroy D. Baca, and
South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station Captain Eliezer Vera, and approximately 100 Sheriff’s Deputies, Reserve Deputies, Explorers and Volunteers.
What: South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station are hosting a Public Trust Partnership event to bridge the relationship between law enforcement and the community. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) personnel will conduct community surveys to identify on-going quality of life issues and criminal activity concerns. The results of the survey will be utilized to allocate and re-direct personnel resources to address the problems identified.
South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station is among the first patrol stations to implement LASD’s Public Trust Partnership Program. Sheriff Baca and Department personnel will participate in walking door-to-door interacting with community members and gathering information from the residents about their quality of life concerns.
The surveyed area of focus will be north of 87th Street, south of 106th Street, west of Budlong Avenue, east of Vermont Avenue.
At the conclusion of the survey, Captain Eliezer Vera will schedule a Town Sheriff meeting to share the tabulated data. The Sheriff’s Department will develop and implement strategies to address the identified issues, such as, but not limited to burglary and narcotics suppression, gang mitigation, graffiti/vandalism abatement, juvenile delinquency reduction, neighborhood safety after dark, alcoholic beverage control (ABC) operations, stray animal control, illegal vendor enforcement, loud party, and enhanced traffic enforcement.
