The Newton Police are investigating a suspicious Incident, which occurred in the 400 Block of Wolcott Street.
Police Investigate Possible Kidnapping:
On Saturday November 23, 2013, at approximately 1:30 P.M., Newton Police responded to Wolcott Street for a report of a possible kidnapping.
According to police, an 11-year-old female was walking in the 400 block of Wolcott Street, when a vehicle, described as a green mini van pulled over to the side of the road. The female then observed the operator exit his vehicle, go to the rear of it and lift the back door. He then
grabbed a shiny object out of the back and made a statement to the female, which alarmed her
and caused her to run home.
The male subject then got back into his vehicle and sped off in an easterly direction on Wolcott
Street towards Webster Street. At no time did the male subject attempt to grab the female and pull her into the vehicle. When the female returned home, the police were called and responded.
Officers flooded and canvassed the area with negative results.
The operator is described as being a white male, 30-40 years of age, approximately 6 feet, medium build, salt and pepper hair, a few days of being unshaved and wearing a white tee-shirt
and blue jeans.
