Franklin, TN – Starting this week, Franklin Police Officers will be spending a little less time in their cars, and more time patrolling crowded parking lots on foot. In addition to increasing face-to-face interaction with shoppers, officers will be on the lookout for criminals, and opportunities that shoppers may be unknowingly giving them.
Officers who see overtly visible valuables in parked cars will be leaving this relatively obscure calling card with an important crime-prevention message. Shoppers can greatly reduce their chances of being the victim of an auto burglary by simply keeping valuables out of plain sight, and locking their car doors.
