Late Tuesday evening, November 26, 2013, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to a rural area of Alpine, San Diego County, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman. 

 

Detectives investigating a missing person were led to a remote area in San Diego County where an 81-year-old woman was discovered deceased and determined to be the missing person. The woman was reported missing from Maywood on November 15, 2013, by concerned family members. 

 

It was determined by information gathered during the investigation that the victim’s 53-year-old son, Jorge Rodriguez, murdered the victim at a residence in the 3500 block of East 57th Street, Maywood, and transported her body to San Diego County. 

 

Rodriguez was arrested in Los Angeles County and transported to East Los Angeles Station where he was booked for murder and is being held in lieu of 2 million dollars. 

 

The cause of death will be determined by San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office personnel.
