Williamson Communities Unite as Weather Approaches; Professionals working together, to serve you better

Franklin, TN – Public safety partners from Williamson County communities met this morning in preparation for the inclement weather being forecasted for our region. In a morning conference call with the National Weather Service, we learned that there are three rounds of potentially problematic winter weather anticipated between now and Monday. Round-1 starts later this afternoon, round-2 Saturday night into Sunday morning, and round-3 Sunday night into Monday morning.

While the current forecast predicts the most severe winter weather as being to our west, greater Williamson County public safety agencies, street departments, and utility companies are gearing up and plan on working together to ensure that residents get our very best if infrastructure and utilities become impacted.

In anticipation of what we know, and knowing how weather systems can unexpectedly shift, we urge residents to monitor local media for updated reports on changing conditions. Franklin area residents can get the most up to the minute information on roadway conditions and other public safety issues by following @FranklinTNPD on Twitter. Less frequent, but more in-depth updates will be sent via Nixle. We encourage you to sign up for both.

The Williamson County Emergency Operations Center is currently at a Level-3 Activation, and will be staffed with area public safety professionals to monitor these developing systems and how they impact area infrastructure.
