EMERGENCY WEATHER EVENT
Jackson County, IL - Jackson County Board Chairman John S. Rendleman has declared a State of Emergency for Jackson County due to the severe snow event. Primary roadways remain treacherous, and many secondary roadways in the county are impassable.
All Jackson County offices are closed today, and emergency services are experiencing some delays.
It is imperative that residents stay off of the roads if at all possible until the situation improves. Excess road traffic can impede snow removal and further delay response to emergency calls.
The snow is expected to continue through 3PM today, with accumulations of up to 8 inches. A second round of winter weather is expected on Sunday.
Instructions:
Please monitor local media for up to day weather and road conditions.
