Williamson County has been placed under a Winter Weather Advisory, starting Friday late afternoon at 4:00 pm until Midnight that same date. As we receive updated information regarding the weather, we are still looking at a multi-round system. Currently there are now 3 Winter Weather Rounds predicted to occur, with the additional of snow and ice now possible Sunday night into Monday, and again, the potential for flooding is still a concern throughout the entire system.

For Today and tonight, Friday 6 December 2013, we are still looking at a timeframe for the possible switchover from rain to freezing rain in the late afternoon and evening hours, with accumulations 0.1 inch or less.

Saturday night (7 Dec) into Sunday (8 Dec), NWS currently holds with previously predicted timing, with freezing rain/sleet redeveloping in the evening (Sat) and early morning (Sun) hours, Accumulations for Metro Nashville, Williamson and counties to the south are ¼ inch or less of ice.

Sunday night (8 Dec) into Monday morning (9 Dec), predictions from NWS Nashville are showing the possibility of freezing drizzle and/or snow. Williamson County is likely looking at snow with this third round, where the breaking-line for accumulation being 1 to 2 inches east of I-65.

Rain and flooding are still a concern, with heavy rains still possible for today, with a break in rainfall on Saturday, and a re-introduction of heavy rain potential on Sunday. Localized creek and Minor River flooding possible.

Another conference call with National Weather Service – Nashville is anticipated for Saturday morning 7 Dec 2013, where further information will be given in relation to potential hazards and timing.
