Wanted: Stabbing Suspect on Monterey Park Metro Bus, 7:17PM, Nov. 3, 2013 PHOTO
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Detectives, are looking to identify a man who stabbed another man while riding on Metro Bus Line 260, in the City of Monterey Park, on November 3, 2013, at approx. 7:17 PM. The suspect, who can be seen on bus video, appears to have boarded at the same time as the victim shortly before the incident. The victim stated that the suspect got up from his seat, and thought he was exiting the bus. Instead the suspect unprovoked, stabbed the victim in the throat with a knife or other sharp object, and ran off the bus. Detectives also confirmed this via the bus video. The suspect is described as a Male Hispanic, approx. 30 years old, six feet tall, two hundred pounds, short black or brown hair, a mustache and goatee, and was wearing a light colored shirt and dark shorts, on the day in question.
TSB Lead Detective on this case, Kyle Ynclan stated, “Riding a Metro Bus or Train is usually a very safe mode of transportation. That’s why when someone commits a crime like this, he must be brought to justice.” Ynclan went on to mention that although most of the Metro buses, trains, and properties have video, “there are times like these when we need the public to help identify a criminal like this so that we can stop them from committing another crime.” The male victim was initially listed in serious condition for his injuries, but is now expected to make a full recovery.
