On 12/21/13, Mission Division held a Christmas Program for some special North Hills families. Senior Lead Officer Charles Chacon (19SL61) worked with his Basic Car Neighborhood Watch Groups to recommend families that needed some help with Christmas.
SLO Chacon then conducted outreach with his North Hills Business community and found Sponsors for the families. A Gift Exchange Celebration was held at Mission Station where the Sponsors personally gave the Christmas Gifts to the families. Some families were able to get a free Christmas tree as well since they were not able to afford one.
LAPD Reserve Officer Cheryl Gifis (VTD) and some of Mission's finest Cadets were also present to help with the event. It was a special day and an excellent example of the spirit of Christmas!
