On December 20, 2013 at approximately 11:34 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 Block of Mercy Springs Road. When Officers arrived they located a 34-year-old male reporting an attempted robbery and a 32-year-old male suffering from several lacerations to his head.
The first victim reported he was walking in the 100 Block of Mercy Springs Road when he was approached by two Hispanic males, one armed with a knife, driving a Maroon or dark colored truck. The suspects demanded the victim’s property; however, he ran from the suspects calling for help.
The second victim, who was unrelated to the first victim, saw what was happening and attempted to intervene. He suffered several minor lacerations while trying to help the robbery victim. The suspects left the area after the attack and both victims refused medical attention.
