48 hour parking ordinace warning tags on vehicles not moved for 48 hours
City Ordinance prohibits vehicles from being parked on public streets in excess of 48 hours without being moved. This is a parking violation and subjects vehicles left parked and not moved for 48 hours or longer to impound. With the recent snowy conditions, plowing has been hampered in some areas of the city as a result of vehicles being left parked on public streets in excess of 48 hours without being moved.
When they observe vehicles that have obviously not been driven or moved for extended periods of time that are parked on the public streets, Police Officers are tagging them with 48 hour warning notices. Officers will check back after 48 hours and if those tagged vehicles have not been moved, they may be impounded.
The DPW and Police Department are requesting residents to attempt to remove their vehicles from the streets and park in their driveways as much as possible when snow storms hit to allow for more efficient and effective plowing.
