STATE OF EMERGECY FOR NJ. SEA GIRT SCHOOL CLOSED 
This is Captain Kevin Davenport of the Sea Girt Police Department advising all Sea Girt residents that a State of Emergency has been issued for New Jersey. The Sea Girt Elementary School will be closed tomorrow Friday January 3rd all daytime and evening activities will also be cancelled. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our area to include 5-8 inches of snow, heavy winds and coastal flooding. Please report power outages to JCP&L @ 1-888-544-4877. If you or someone you know has lifesaving equipment in their house that requires power please call the Sea Girt Police Department @732-449-7300 so we can add them to our data base and check on them throughout power outages. The Sea Girt Fire Department is also requesting help from residents in shoveling out fire hydrants in front of homes. Please comply with the Governors state of emergency and keep off all roads.
