Buena Regional Schools are closed and the Governor has declared a State of Emergency for tomorrow 1/3/14. All NJ State Offices are closed for non-essential employees. Currently there are no travel restrictions however the Governor asks that all New Jerseyans stay off the roads if possible so public works and emergency responders can safely respond to needs. The declaration does allow for the addition of travel restrictions/bans as necessary. Please check with your employer regarding your reporting to work requirements. Buena Vista Township Municipal Hall will be closed tomorrow for non-essential personnel however Public works will be available.
Buena Vista Township Public Works has treated roadways and prepped for response to deteriorating conditions that are anticipated to develop throughout the night and into the morning. Visibility is forecasted to be compromised and icy conditions likely. The wind will bring temperatures in the sub-zero range. Please check on friends and neighbors, especially those that may require assistance. Please do not park vehicles on roadways as this interfere with snow plows and emergency vehicles.
