Milan Snow Emergency Lifted
The Snow Emergency that was declared for the City of Milan on 1-2-14 has been lifted by Mayor Armitage. DPW crews are still out clearing and cleaning up streets and areas around town, however the restrictions that were in place in conjunction with the snow emergency prohibiting parking on all city streets have been lifted. Parking Downtown was not restricted during the Snow Emergency.
Residents are reminded that City Ordinance prohibits leaving vehicles parked on city streets for more than 48 hours without being moved; the Police Department has tagged numerous vehicles around town with 48 hour parking warning notices. Vehicles so-tagged and not moved when officers follow-up may be impounded at the owner's expense.
Although the parking restrictions that were in place in conjunction with the Snow Emergency have been lifted, residents are asked as much as possible to try and park their vehicles in driveways to allow the DPW crews the best access possible to the residential streets as they continue their clean up efforts.
We wish to thank everyone for their patience during the last couple days and reinforce the exceptional efforts of our DPW crew as they worked to clear the city streets in the face of the recent snow storm.
