Due to the extreme cold temperatures and wind chill factor, a shelter will be open for the homeless in Vineland.

Trinity Episcopal Church located at 800 E. Wood St, in cooperation with the Friends of Faith Ministry, have made their church available as a warming center / shelter for the homeless in Vineland.

The church will be open starting at 5:00 p.m. today, January 3, 2014. The church will be open tonight and tomorrow night based on predicted weather conditions. There will be cots, blankets and food available to anyone in need.

Should you be aware of or come in contact with any homeless individuals, please refer them to the shelter at the location noted above.

If you are interested in volunteering or if you would like to donate items, please contact Reverend Ellen Rutheford at 609-319-9234.

The combination of extremely low temperatures and winds will lead to a wind chill factor near or below zero. Temperatures this cold have not been experienced in this area for some time and are dangerous for anyone without shelter
