Snow Energency and Parking Restrictions Lifted
Please see Mayor Armitage's message below. In addition, the PD would like to reinforce the thanks from the Mayor to all our citizens for the high level of cooperation we received in the face of the recent snow storm in terms of the parking restrictions that were put in place. Most vehicles were removed from city streets, which made plowing much more effective and efficient. Please be aware crews are still out cleaning up. If your car was not moved during the parking restrictions, please try and dig out and move it now, as the plows are still plowing and can get those areas cleaned up if the vehicles get moved in a timely manner.
Milan PD
From the Mayor:
Crews are reporting that they have plowed all streets at this time, so the snow emergency has been lifted. They will continue to work on removing snow build-up in intersections and areas that are experiencing drifting snow.
I want to thank our crews for working very hard over the last 24 hours to get this accomplished. I also want to thank our emergency responders who put in extra time to staff the fire department, police department, and dispatch during the storm. Last but not least, thank you to the residents and visitors for removing vehicles from the streets. It made the job much easier for the plows, which allowed them to get the job done faster and more effectively.
Please keep in mind that driving conditions are still hazardous, especially near open fields, as snow is blowing and drifting. Additionally , with subzero temperatures, salt is not effective.
