THE WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 5 PM MST SUNDAY.
* TIMING...TODAY AND SUNDAY. CONDITIONS SHOULD DETERIORATE BEGINNING THIS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* SNOWFALL...6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS ANTICIPATED BY SATURDAY WITH UP TO 15 INCHES POSSIBLE FOR THE HIGHEST PEAKS. VALLEY LOCATIONS WILL SEE UP TO 6 INCHES.
* WINDS...WINDS WILL BE SUSTAINED AT 20 TO 40 MPH MPH WITH GUSTS OF 40 TO 60 MPH AT TIMES. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR AT MIDDLE AND UPPER ELEVATIONS.
* IMPACTS...SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL PRODUCE WIDESPREAD BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND LOCALIZED BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN SOME AREAS. TRAVEL WILL BECOME VERY HAZARDOUS BY LATER SATURDAY ESPECIALLY FOR SOME HIGHER PASSES. BE PREPARED FOR POTENTIAL
ROAD CLOSURES AS WELL. TRAVEL AND VENTURING INTO THE BACK COUNTRY IS DISCOURAGED UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
