The Nash County Sheriff’s Office along with Rocky Mount Police Department and Wilson Police Department have been investigating a string of Armed Robberies since November of 2013. This all started when the Stop and Shop in the 8600 of West Mount Dr. was robbed at gunpoint on 11/25/2013. Wilson Police were working on two robberies in their city that was the M.O. as our robbery and Rocky mount Police were working a Robbery at the Wilco Hess Store on Bethlehem Rd. that matched our M.O.

On Tuesday 01/07/2014 the Sheriff’s Office responded to 1500 block of Bloomery Road in Bailey for a Armed Robbery. The suspect fit the description of the other store robberies we were having.

On Sunday night 01/12/2014 the Sheriff’s Office responded to the Pit Stop located on West Mount Drive near I-95 where a suspect was seen running out of the store with a rifle which he had just robbed. The suspect fled and was followed by a citizen and where he wrecked his vehicle on South Old Carriage Road, and then he ran on foot. While searching for the suspect he was able to make it to the Stop and Shop on West Mount Drive where he stole a subject's car. Sheriff’s Deputies and Rocky Mount Police along with Highway Patrol were able to locate the suspect and vehicle at the Food Lion located on Hunter Hill Road. A foot pursuit ensued through the Food Lion Store and out the rear exit where the suspect was located and arrested without incident. The suspect was transported back to the Sheriff’s Office where he admitted to six armed robberies, 3 in Nash county, 2 in Wilson, 1 in Edgecombe. The suspect was charged with four counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and one count of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. The suspects bond was set at $300,000.00 secured. More Charges are expected!
