January 13, 2014

PRESS RELEASE:

Arrest of Wanted Felon leads to Meth arrests.

On Friday, January 10, 2014, around 9:00 a.m., Warsaw Police were called to Owen’s Supermarket, on East Center Street in Warsaw, after the pharmacy called and advised that there was a male in the store that was wanted. Officers arrived and were directed to the male who was identified as Jack Daniels, 31 years of age, of Warsaw. A check found Mr. Daniels was wanted on a warrant out of Whitley County for “Failing to Return to Lawful Detention” after not showing up for his court ordered sentence last September. Mr. Daniels was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation found that Mr. Daniels had attempted to purchase Sudafed at the Owen’s Pharmacy, but the purchase was denied and alerted the Pharmacist. Mr. Daniels admitted that he attempted the purchase to use the Sudafed in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.
A female with Mr. Daniels was also detained and was found to have Meth precursors and drug paraphernalia on her person and in the vehicle. Kristi Cain, 29 years old, of Warsaw, was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in on felony charges of Possession of Chemical Reagents/Precursors with intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, and Possession of Meth Paraphernalia. She was being held on a $2,000 surety bond.
Officer’s also went to Mr. Daniels' residence at Green Acres Mobile Home park and located multiple burnt one-pot meth labs, Meth precursors, and Meth paraphernalia related to the manufacture of Methamphetamine. An adult female at the mobile home was detained and released, but two (2) children were removed from the home by the Indiana Department of Child Services. The Indiana State Police Meth team cleaned up the scene.
Mr. Daniels was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and held with no bond for Whitley County. He was also charged locally with Attempt to Commit a Felony for the attempted purchase of Meth manufacturing precursors. Additional drug charges are probable for Mr. Daniels and others.
Warsaw Police was assisted in their investigation by the Indiana State Police.
