Police Investigate Attempted Home Invasion

On January 13, 2014, at approximately 4:27 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of N. Creekside Drive after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting trespassing.

The victim was backing a vehicle out of her garage, when she was approached by two males described as wearing dark clothing and having ski mask covering their faces. The suspects demanded the woman, 44, open the door. The woman refused and the suspects began hitting the vehicle windows with a wooden club type object.

The suspects fled the area on foot when the woman dialed 9-1-1 on her cellular telephone. The suspects were last seen running north through Veteran’s Memorial Park.

It is believed, the suspects may have known the victim’s daily routine. The suspects were thought to be lying in wait for the victim as she left her residence.

“Our detectives are hard at work examining evidence left at the scene and reviewing video surveillance. At this point in the investigation they are piecing together evidence and gathering additional witness statements.”
-Jason Hedden, Police Commander
