Franklin, TN – Earlier today, the International Association of Chiefs of Police Center for Social Media released their report on the Nation’s top-followed police Twitter accounts. The Franklin Police Department, aka @FranklinTNPD, was ranked #4 in the United States for police departments with 100-249 sworn officers. The Department’s Twitter feed, managed by Sergeant Charles Warner, earned that ranking with their 7,579 followers, and growing. “It’s all about meeting people where they’re most comfortable and starting conversations about things they find relevant,” said Sergeant Warner. “One of those places is very obviously on Twitter.”
“I commend Sergeant Warner and his team with the hard work that they put into engaging and informing our residents,” said Chief David Rahinsky. “The progressive work that office does to connect our customers to the officers sworn to their service is truly remarkable.” Franklin is one of only two Tennessee police agencies to have earned top rankings in today’s report.
