PRESS RELEASE: Multiple Meth Arrests Following Short Pursuit in Warsaw.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 16, 2014

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, around 2:00 p.m., Warsaw Police attempted to stop a green Honda near the intersection of Winona Avenue (State Road 15) and Indiana Street. As officers attempted the traffic stop, all three (3) passengers bailed out of the vehicle but were immediately detained by undercover officers. The Honda fled and led Warsaw Police on a short pursuit down McClellan Street and Country Club Road before stopping near Country Club Drive South. During the pursuit, the driver threw multiple Methamphetamine related articles out of the vehicle. Narcotics officers located the items, which included an active one-pot Meth lab contained in a fire extinguisher.
The driver, Randy R. Woods, 33 years old, of Silver Lake, IN., was taken into custody. Officers located additional Meth manufacturing items in the vehicle, including an HCL generator and an old one-pot Meth lab. Mr. Woods was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Chemical Reagents/Precursors with intent to Manufacture Meth, Resisting/Fleeing Law Enforcement, and for being a Habitual Traffic Violator. He was being held on $5,000.00 surety bond.
The investigation also led to a residence at 317 N. Lake Street, apartment #3, in Warsaw, where officers found another HCL generator, Meth manufacturing precursors, and finished Meth product. Meth clean-up teams were called to the apartment as well as to the vehicle and disposal locations.
One of the passengers, Michael S. Harris, 49 years old, of Warsaw, IN., had an active warrant out of Kosciusko County for Forgery. He was booked in on the warrant, and also charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, and Possession of Chemical Reagents/Precursors with intent to Manufacture Meth. He was being held on a $5,000.00 surety bond.
Another passenger, Donald E. Tooley, 32 years old, of Fort Wayne, IN., was booked for Visiting a Common Nuisance.
The third passenger, Justin N. Smith, 25 years old, of Warsaw, IN., injested unprescribed narcotics and was admitted to Kosciusko Community Hospital after going into respiratory distress. A warrant will be sought Mr. Smith for Visiting a Common Nuisance, and Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
Warsaw Police were assisted by Indiana State Police, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, and Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory.
