Hit and Run Driver Fatally Injures Motorist
NORTHRIDGE: On January 15, 2014 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a three vehicle traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Balboa Boulevard in the Northridge area of the San Fernando Valley.
The suspect’s vehicle, a 2001 Ford Ranger pick-up truck, tan in color, was traveling westbound Parthenia Street and collided with a 1993 Ford Escort, grey in color, driven by Robert Ramage, a 24 year old resident of Northridge, California, traveling southbound Balboa Boulevard. The impact between the vehicles caused the victim to become ejected from his vehicle and he was found lying in the roadway. The suspect’s vehicle continued northbound in the southbound lanes of Balboa Boulevard and collided with a vehicle parked southbound Balboa Boulevard at the west curb.
The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to Northridge Hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel for medical treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the pick-up truck fled the collision without identifying himself. The driver was described as a male, white, 6-0/6-3, 230-280 lbs, 25-30 years of age.
