THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM FRIDAY TO 5 AM EST SATURDAY.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER ...

* WIND: SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 30 MPH FRIDAY MORNING. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY SUBSIDE FRIDAY NIGHT.

* WIND CHILLS: EXPECT WIND CHILL READINGS OF 20 TO 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO FRIDAY MORNING. WIND CHILL READINGS WILL REMAIN BELOW ZERO INTO FRIDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW: SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEST OF INTERSTATE-75 FRIDAY MORNING AND GRADUALLY SPREAD EAST AS THE DAY PROGRESSES. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY NIGHT. STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES BY SATURDAY MORNING WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE CLOSER TO INTERSTATE-75.

IMPACTS ...

* WHITEOUT CONDITIONS POSSIBLE AT TIMES DUE TO BLOWING SNOW RESULTING IN VERY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS WILL BE ESPECIALLY TRUE ACROSS OPEN AREAS AND WEST-EAST ORIENTED ROADWAYS.

* FROSTBITE MAY OCCUR TO EXPOSED SKIN IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES WITH THE EXPECTED LOW WIND CHILL READINGS FRIDAY MORNING. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO COVER EXPOSED SKIN.
