The Newton Police Department is reporting that due to a water main break, Parker Street at Stearns Road will be closed beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Traffic-heading south on Parker Street will be diverted at Halcyon Road, while traffic-heading north on Parker Street will be diverted at the Route 9 west-off ramp, onto Jackson Street. Also, both the east & west Route 9 off-ramps at Parker Street will be closed.
Because of this road closure, the motoring public should seek alternative routes. At this time it is unknown how long the repair will take.
