Arrest of Robbery Suspect

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at approximately 11:24 am, Cypress Police officers were dispatched to the Walgreens located at 6006 Lincoln Avenue, in regards to a robbery that had just occurred. While en route to the call, officers were advised that a witness was following a possible suspect, who was seen driving a white older model Chevrolet pickup truck. Officers quickly caught up to the suspect vehicle, which had pulled into a motel parking lot located in the area of Beach Blvd. and La Palma Avenue. Officers contacted the suspect outside of his vehicle and took him into custody without incident.

After an initial investigation, which included multiple witness identifications of the suspect, it was determined that Timothy Reynolds (D.O.B. 11-23-66) entered Walgreens and brandished a handgun at the cashier. He then demanded gift cards and cigarettes and left the store with the merchandise. As a result, he was placed under arrest for violation of P.C. 211 - robbery and P.C. 459 – burglary. He was transported to the Cypress Police Department for booking and later transported to the Orange County Jail where he is being held on $50,000 bail. All of the stolen property and a replica handgun were recovered. Furthermore, the suspect is also being investigated for similar crimes in the cities of Cerritos, Fullerton and Anaheim.
