Palos Heights Police wish to remind all residents to remain vigilant in protecting their homes and property. With early hours of darkness, it is not unusual to see increases in residential and motor vehicle burglaries. Several areas in Chicagoland have been affected by burglaries, particularly in the late afternoon, early evening hours. Residents should not hesitate to call police if they notice anything that seems unusual, suspicious, or out of place in their neighborhoods.

Palos Heights Police suggest that residents take steps, such as putting lights on, clearing snow, and removing mail/newspapers to make homes appear occupied. Keep valuables out of sight and home and vehicle doors locked.
