Police Investigate Two Robberies
On January 25, 2014 at approximately 8:35 p.m., Police Communications received a 9-1-1 call from a taxi driver reporting a robbery. The taxi company received a telephone call from someone requesting a taxi in the 1100 block of Illinois Avenue. When the driver arrived he was approached by four Hispanic males, at least one in possession of a firearm.
The driver was assaulted and his wallet was taken during the robbery. The suspects were described as wearing black hooded sweatshirts and were last seen running north in the 1100 block of Illinois Avenue towards West K Street.
At approximately 10:51 p.m., Police Communications received a 9-1-1 call from a business in the 800 block of West Pacheco Boulevard reporting an armed robbery.
Two suspects entered the business, one armed with a handgun. The suspects demanded money and fled the business with cash.
The suspects were described as two Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20’s, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, both having a thin build. The suspects were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts, concealing the majority of their faces. One suspect was wearing a dark blue colored hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white gloves.

These crimes are currently under investigation and it is unclear if these crimes are related.
